Kigali will welcome global higher education leaders this October as the University of Rwanda hosts the IAU 2025 International Conference, under the theme “Building Trust in Higher Education.”
The event, scheduled for 21–23 October 2025, will bring together academics, policymakers, and education stakeholders from across the world to examine how universities can strengthen credibility, transparency, and social responsibility in today’s rapidly changing educational landscape.
Organized by the International Association of Universities (IAU) in partnership with the University of Rwanda, the conference will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and collaborative sessions on pressing issues such as academic integrity, governance, digital transformation, and international cooperation.
According to the IAU, the choice of Rwanda reflects both the country’s growing reputation as an innovation hub and the University of Rwanda’s commitment to advancing higher education in Africa. The gathering is also expected to provide a platform for African perspectives to shape global debates on higher education reform.
Registration is already open for institutions and individuals wishing to participate in the three-day conference.
