UR, Yonsei University Team Up to Strengthen Research

The University of Rwanda (UR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yonsei University of South Korea to boost research, innovation, and academic exchange.

Signed on September 24 during Yonsei’s 140th Anniversary Conference, the agreement focuses on medical sciences, technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT).

UR Vice Chancellor Prof. Kayihura Muganga Didas said the partnership will open doors for joint research projects, faculty exchanges, and innovation initiatives, supporting Rwanda’s knowledge economy.

“This MoU allows UR students and faculty to collaborate with world-class researchers and promotes ethical, responsible research,” he added.

The collaboration builds on previous ties, including Yonsei’s cooperation with Rwanda’s Ministry of Education and an honorary doctorate awarded to President Paul Kagame in 2024.
